Hands for Hope
Schedule: 3/25 Joe Weaver/Don Steadman
Recent Updates: Food Bank will temporarily be moving its pickup location. It is now going to be at the address below starting next week, March 25th, and will be there until the beginning of June. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 2930 Treat Blvd, Concord, CA 94518 This church is just down from De La Salle High School and almost across the street from the fire station on Treat.
The badges are now located as you enter the food room. On the right hand side of the room are some shelves. On the top shelf is a plastic box with a draw labeled Name Badges. It is important to communicate with your partner to decide on who is picking up the badges for your team, or if each person will pick up his/her own badge, and when you are going to pick up the badge(s). If you do pick up your own badge and cannot make your shift, it is your responsibility to return it to the church for the person who is filling in for you. Maybe just decide and designate one person to be responsible for getting the badges.
If food order has been placed with the Food Bank and needs to be picked up please sign for the order at completion of loading with Teresa and she will give you a copy, plus an order form for the next week. You do not need to do this if you are only getting the free items.
If you are picking up just the free items, please have one person on the team sign the sheet with our Agency number, church phone number (925-825-7810), and your name at the beginning of the process. There will be no additional paperwork.
The food is set out in the back parking lot. Walnut Creek Church of Christ volunteers need to be at the pick-up location by 8:50 a.m., with a vehicle that can accommodate a good amount of food.
No open toe shoes, drinks, or food are allowed in the parking lot during pick-up.
After picking up the food, travel to the WCCC building to unload some of the items you just received. As you have previously done, load additional food that is located on the top of the tables in our pantry. Then, travel to the Head Start location, as before, and unload all of your items.
The entire process should take approximately two hours.
